Sapiens, shmapiens - future intelligences will be amused by the temerity and arrogance of Homo sapiens sapiens in how we named our species and subspecies. Some days I feel like crying as I eat the tasty cakes that are also the product of our species. This is the rum talking, but how is it that humans are capable of creating such beauty while destroying the natural world? We are too smart for our own good and still not smart enough to save ourselves, much less our world. As always, thanks for your insightful post.
